Stereolab at Irving Plaza

Tim Gane and Lætitia Sadier are the founding members of Stereolab. Above we see them, (depicted as a dog and a fox, respectively) performing in Number Two’s office from The Prisoner.

Stereolab, with many more members than drawn above, played three shows at Irving Plaza in October of 2008. The shows were in support of their fantastic new record Chemical Chords but also coincided with Meghan McCain bizarrely posting one of Stereolab’s more explicitly Marxist songs (Ping Pong) as the song of the day on her blog. Watch Sadier reference McCain before performing the song in this YouTube video.

Stereolab played an amazing show, performing both new and old songs. They also had one of the best merch tables ever, selling not only t-shirts and buttons but also limited edition records and Stereolab laundry bags.
