Mudhoney at The Highline Ballroom

Here are grunge rockers Mudhoney, who performed at The Highline Ballroom on June 7th. Lead singer, sometimes guitarist, Mark Arm is a werewolf. You can tell because his werewolf toes have ripped through the tops of his shoes. Werewolves go through more shoes that way. The rest of the band are various zombie animals.

Mudhoney played during the horrible heatwave of 2008. For some reason it was hotter inside the Highline than outside. And outside it felt like walking around in an oven. The crowd was made up of a bizarre group of strange people, most of whom were wearing band shirts, and none of the shirts were for bands formed after 1996.

Mudhoney played a great and very energetic show, with Mark Arm jumping around the stage like a lycanthropic Iggy Pop. The set list was a mix of old and new material, but unfortunately they didn’t play “Into Your Shtick” (my favorite). So here it is! Enjoy!
